Core group of about 12, though loose flock totalling at least 20 moving about in garden. Most very good candidates for Tasmanian ssp lateralis with rich chestnut flanks and pale chins. Gleaning for insects, probing flowers and feeding on berries. Visiting lime tree, cottoneaster tree (with berries), several Salvia spp/cultivars (Indigo Spires, Pineallpe Sage, Salvia menthe). About 11:00 flock of at least 8 gleaning aphids from rose buds - just outside dining room window!
