Almost hidden amongst stints and other small waders , all roosting on the shingle beach ridges . 3 birds with substantial breeding plumage, 1 with messy beginnings of breeding plumage, 1 with neater beginnings of BP and 1 in non-breeding plumage. Latter two later seen foraging in classic Sanderling fashion on beach face.
